Columbus North International School, Title I
As a school that qualifies and receives Federal Title I funds, Columbus North International School works to provide valuable resources and information to parents about their student's academic progress.  The information below provides parents with the CNIS Parent Involvement Policy, Parent Right to Know and information and resources for homeless families.
The CNIS Parent Involvement Policy provides parents with guidelines on how the school will partner with parents during the educational process.
Parent / Guardian Right to Know
Per the Federal No Child Left Behind Legislation, parents have the right to know the following information about the school their child attends:
  1. Is the school making yearly progress and the options that are available to them if the school is identified as "in need of improvement."
  2. Their student's level of achievement on State Assessments.
  3. The qualifications of their student's teachers.
  4. Whether their student is being taught by an educator that is "not highly qualified" for more than four weeks.
  5. Parents may agree or disagree with the limited English Language Program participation of their student and they have a right to know their progress on Limited English proficient (LEP) assessments.

Report An Absence

 If your child is absent, please call the office at (614) 365-4088 on the first day of the absence. If you are unable to call, a written note is required when your child returns to school. In our efforts to ensure the safety of your child, and we haven’t yet heard from you regarding an absence, a telephone call will be made by our automated system.

Section 504 Information

Section 504 is a federal law designed to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities and requires public school districts to provide a free appropriate public education to each qualified student within the school district.
